Did you know that the skin is the largest organ in the human body? In an average adult, it weighs about eight pounds and takes up 22 square feet of space. Taking care of it and following a skincare routine that includes vitamin applications is important. But what specifically should you do?

Most people have heard the old adage: “You are what you eat.” This is so true in many ways, including how diet affects your skin. Most vitamins for skin you can get through the foods you eat, but there are vitamins on the market that you can take to supplement your skincare routine and enhance your natural beauty.

A that includes abundant fruits, vegetables and whole grains benefits your health by protecting your organs — including your skin. Many of the vitamins in those foods offer anti-aging properties, sun damage control and acne care. They can also be skin hydrators and function as a stretch marks helper. In addition, certain vitamins can reduce the appearance of dark spots.

These are some of the top vitamins for skin that may help you maintain youthful skin and give you a healthy glow.

Vitamin A helps prevent sun damage by stopping the breakdown of collagen. It can also help fight the signs of aging (retinol is a derivative) and serve as acne care. More benefits include protecting your vision and keeping lung cancer away. Find vitamin A in beef, eggs, dairy, spinach, kale and apricots. Eat foods rich in beta carotene (carrots, sweet potatoes, butternut squash) because it converts to vitamin A.

Vitamin B3 (aka niacin) is found in many beauty products as a derivative known as niacinamide, which can help reduce signs of aging and improve skin brightness. Find it in liver, chicken breast, ground beef, turkey, salmon, avocado, brown rice, whole wheat, peas and potatoes.

Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) serves as a skin hydrator by absorbing moisture from the air. It also has anti-inflammatory properties to help heal wounds. It’s difficult to get enough vitamin B5 from food (whole grains, chicken, avocado), but you can take an oral supplement or just reap its benefits through skincare products.

Vitamin B7 (aka biotin) is water-soluble and nourishes hair, skin and nails. It stimulates hair growth, which makes it thicken and look more lustrous. Biotin can often correct dry skin caused by a vitamin H deficiency. To benefit from this vital vitamin, you need to take a supplement.

Vitamin B9 (folic acid) is crucial to the creation of new cells, tissue growth and brain development, which is why pregnant women need to include it in their diet. It is thought to help prevent birth defects and also increase the chances of conceiving. It helps eliminate toxins from the body, thus reducing facial acne. Don’t overdo it, though, because it can have the opposite effect. Find folic acid in spinach, lentils, citrus fruits, melons, mushrooms, asparagus, pork, poultry, dried beans, peas and legumes.

Vitamin C is a strong antioxidant that may help reduce your risk of getting skin cancer while also protecting you from free radicals. It also helps collagen keep its shape (and your skin supple), may lower your risk of skin cancer and protect you from free radicals. Citrus fruits and red bell peppers are excellent food sources of vitamin C.

Vitamin D, the “sunshine vitamin,” is made when the skin absorbs sunlight. It helps skin cells grow and may even help treat skin conditions such as psoriasis. In addition to being in the sun, you can get vitamin D from food sources such as milk, fortified cereals, mushrooms, fish and eggs.

Vitamin E does a good job absorbing energy from ultra-violet rays that can contribute to wrinkles, sagging skin and cancer. This oil-soluble vitamin helps keep your vitamin A stores up to snuff and is very good for your hair. It may even help with hair growth. Foods rich in vitamin E include wheat germ oil, sunflower seeds, almonds, abalone, peanuts, Atlantic salmon, lobster, avocado, rainbow trout, mango and kiwi.

Vitamin K is known to be a stretch marks helper. It helps blood clot and heals wounds, and can reduce the appearance of spider veins, scars, dark spots and under-eye circles. Spinach, kale, lettuce, cabbage and green beans are all good sources of vitamin K.

Zinc isn’t really an antioxidant, but it still plays an important role in keeping your skin healthy. It’s a mineral that helps deter free radicals and protects the skin’s lipids (fats) and fibroblasts, the cells that make collagen to support the skin’s structure. It can help heal wounds and protect against UV rays, control inflammation, rejuvenate skin and may even prevent acne flare-ups. Take a zinc supplement or get it from eating chicken, lean beef, beans, chickpeas and fortified cereals.

If you don’t think you’re consuming enough of these valuable vitamins from food to keep your skin healthy or don’t want to take individual supplements, consider taking a multivitamin. In addition, make sure that the skincare routine you follow includes products with vitamins and minerals.

As is the case with other appliances, there are issues people frequently experience with their heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC) units. Many of these have simple solutions you can implement by yourself. Others are more serious and require placing a call to a seasoned HVAC technician to troubleshoot.

Dirty/Clogged Filter

HVAC Programs in Fort Myers, FL

One of the most common reasons for reduced or complete lack of airflow from your vents is a dirty filter. It can make your furnace and air conditioner work harder for a longer period of time to heat or cool your home. Fortunately, it also has one of the easiest fixes; all you have to do is swap out the dirty or clogged filter with a clean new one. The air filters collect dust and other pollutants to keep them out of the air in your home. Be sure to change your filter in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines, which vary depending on the model of your HVAC unit. Most suggest changing your filter every three to six months. Regularly changing your air filter will greatly reduce the incidence of HVAC issues.

Excess Water

A puddle of water around your HVAC unit is usually cause for concern. Furnaces have drain lines that transport the condensation into the ground and away from somewhere else within your HVAC unit where it can cause problems. If you notice water, check the condensate drain line to make sure there are no cracks. Another cause of water could be ducts or drain pans overflowing due to rapid fluctuations in humidity. These can be problematic because they can damage your HVAC unit and cause damage to drywall and other building components in contexts where units aren’t located in basements. To combat the problem of excess water, it’s a good idea to have maintenance checkups done on your unit every few months.

Thermostat Malfunction

HVAC Technician Programs in Florida

The thermostat is the control hub of your home’s HVAC unit, and its functionality or lack thereof can greatly affect the comfort you experience within your home. If you are experiencing thermostat issues, start by removing the cover to see if the issue is being caused by dust. Also check the batteries for corrosion and replace them if necessary. One last step would be to make sure the thermostat is properly connected to the electrical system (i.e. the breaker) and the HVAC unit. If all else fails, you will want to call an experienced for assistance.

Pilot Light Issues

The pilot light is the heart and soul of your heating system, so it is important to keep tabs on it regularly. A properly functioning pilot light should burn blue. A flickering or yellow pilot light, on the other hand, can be signs of carbon monoxide or other kinds of contamination in the flame. In that situation, check your carbon monoxide detectors to ensure they are working and that you’re not in immediate danger. Be sure to shut off the electricity and gas from the unit prior to attempting to solve the problem yourself. Two possible solutions are tightening the thermocouple rod and adjusting the size of the flame by turning the screw. It is also a good idea to consult your unit’s manual, as it typically provides troubleshooting steps for commonly occurring issues. If nothing else, you can call an HVAC technician near you to help with furnace repair.

AC Not Cooling Enough

If your air conditioner is running but the air isn’t as cold as it should be, your unit is likely lacking a sufficient amount of refrigerant. Unfortunately, if that is the case, you are likely , as refrigerant does not vacate the air conditioner any other way. Unless you are an HVAC technician, it is probably best to call a professional to locate the leak and repair your air conditioner. Many manufacturers suggest having your unit inspected annually by an HVAC technician.

As you can see, there’s a lot that can go wrong with HVAC units. With this in mind, you have the opportunity to make a rewarding career out of servicing HVAC systems as an HVAC technician. The first step toward becoming an HVAC technician is finding an accredited HVAC career training program like the one at Â鶹´«Ă˝.

Nothing says a new year and new you like a change in your hairstyle or hair color. In 2019, you may choose to go with the cut or style of your favorite celebrity, or pick a style that everyday people seem to like. The possibilities are limitless, but here are some trends in hairstyles, color products and hair accessories you’re likely to see this year.

Hairstyle Trends of 2019 | Have a look at them here:

Bobs and Lobs

A good cut can boost your confidence and even change the shape of your face. Bobs have been popular for a while now, but rather than the layered short and medium cuts of the past, in 2019 a blunt-cut jawline bob is one to consider. It’s a little shorter in the back and falls between your ears and chin. You can wear it in a polished, sleek style or just tousle and texturize for a casual look. The versatile lob is a longer version of the bob, resting at the neck or top of the collarbone. If you have thin hair, have your stylist blend in interior layers and pump up the volume with mousse.

Bangs

Another simple way to change your look is by adding fringe to your hairstyle: bangs. Choose blunt-cut or shorter bangs that blend into gradual layers to modernize your style. If your hair is long and straight, try the curtain-style, face-framing bangs that pair well with a side part. Do you have thick hair? Opt for thick bangs that hang over your eyes and look good with a heavy layered cut that stops at the top of your shoulders.

Rich Color

Do you remember the greens, blues, pinks and purples that were popular in 2018? That’s not going to carry over so much this year – except for as pops of color or on the ends of hair. Look for color products and tints that are rich and vibrant: chocolate with copper accents, chestnut with gold, multidimensional blonde, inky black and ash gray.

Hair Decoration

If a barrette or hair clip serves as a means to an end (pulling your hair back or up), reconsider the way you look at them this year. Wear them together or do a cluster of different types of barrettes for this year’s hairstyle trend: hair decoration. Certainly, clips, scrunchies and barrettes can serve their traditional purpose, but let what they do go a step beyond. Secure a topknot with a band or scrunchy, but then decorate it with flowers, feathers, gems or beads. Use braids to create a decorative style that you can adorn with accessories like something your favorite celebrities might wear when they walk the red carpet.

Retro Style

Many of the 2019 hairstyles can be adapted to popular retro trends. For example, if you’ve decided on bangs, try the waif-like look that was popular with the long, straight hair of the 1960s, when mini-dresses and go-go boots were the fashion. The center-parted, no-haircare look of the 1970s is in, too, as is a vintage shaggy-layered look. If you have a bob or lob, give it a retro rounded look à la Toni Tennille when she and the Captain were at the helm of popular music. Remember the too-short bangs your mom gave you when you were a kid? That’s a popular retro look today.

If you like keeping up with the latest trends in hair and makeup, a career in cosmetology could be right for you. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, cosmetology jobs are expected to grow at a rate that is 13 percent higher than other jobs.

Â鶹´«Ă˝ offers a hairstylist program that will prepare you for a job as a hairstylist in as few as 10 months. Choose from convenient day or night classes that accommodate your schedule needs. You’ll get hands-on training from industry professionals and hone your skills in a beautiful state-of-the-art salon-like environment so you’ll be ready for the workplace after graduation.

Don’t let 2019 get away from you. Contact today to start your cosmetology career.
